Default Audio upgrade

Installed full set of Infinity Kappa 682.11cf in my 12 FX4. Wow what a difference these things sound over the crap speakers, was a little pessimistic before install about the change in sound quality. I was pleasantly surprised with the change after I put these in, much better frequency response both low end and high end (still have factory HU) in place. Looking forward to getting an amp installed to see how much more it will improve. Took about an 1 1/2 to do all 4 doors....what a P.I.T.A is is to get that little cover behind the interior door handle off.

a door panel removal tools helped get that piece out. mine came with small hooks for an older CD player and I used them to remove it out.

I too installed Infinity Kappa 682.9cf in my F-150 and man, night and day difference. not putting an amp to mine, it already sounds as I want them to be.

Did you guys upgrade from the Sony speakers? That's what I have, I'm not sure if the difference will be that great. I also will not be adding an amp or changing out the head unit. Just curious if the difference is worth the time and money. Thx.

No, just replaced the non Sony factory speakers. While doing my research on which speakers to purchase, I noticed a few replaced the Sony's with the Infinity and said they could tell a slight improvement. Don't know if it would be worth it though as the price is around $120 for a pair.

I replaced my Sony speakers and I noticed a difference right away. the highs and mids are much better. I bought the 682.9cf on Amazon for $80/pair a couple of weeks ago. Onlinecarstereo has them for the same price.

Do these 6x8's fit both the front and rear factory locations? I have a 2011 supercab. Also I'm betting by just replacing the crappy stock speakers and not the head unit, that I will hear a noticeable difference with these?

you may want to check on crutchfields website to see what fits first. I'm not sure what fits the supercab.

Sorry to hijack the thread but for an FX2 with the Sonys, I can't replace the navi screen but is it possible to get new speakers, sub, and amps in these trucks without the HU controls offered by aftermarket? Do infinity speakers make a worthy upgrade to the Sony's if they aren't amped? Thanks for any help.
