Default CAI without Tune

Anyone know what intakes you can get for a 5.4 that don't require a tune? I prefer to find a dry filter kit if that matters.

I had a K&N for over a year without a tune. It makes a neat noise when you get on it lol.

You can use any filter w/o out a tune really, I have an AirRaid dry filter system, however I did get a tune but it was to fix the tranny shifts mostly.

Which airaid did you have? I was looking at the full kit with the tube, not just the one that attaches to the factory intake.

Have you ever had any issues with the filter being oiled? I had a drop in K&N on my last car and the oil messed up my MAF. I hadn't oiled it either...it was however much the factory had on it.

You don't need a tune for an air filter, or warm air intake. What minuscule amount of airflow you gain will be measured by the mass air sensor.

Ya the computer will compensate on its own.

I have the injen on my 4.6 and love it. Dry filter, retains the factory lower part of the airbox, very well made and doesnt break the bank.

I have the Airraid and like the K&N , it makes a nice sound. Does it improve anything? Not much. I have used both and believe that they are about the same. Let price be your guide. You can't see it under the hood, so looks don't matter.
I did switch from a stock size K&N filter to a stock filter and to the Airraid just to check the mpg on each. Not more than 1 to 1.5 mpg difference.
Let your wallet be your guide. You will even get tired of the cool sound they make.
