Default My First Problem With EcoBoost

Man, I really was hopeful I wouldn't have to be one of the people posting about a problem with my truck. I know many that post talk about problems they are having, while majority are satisfied. Unfortunately, I'm the former.

I drive a 2013 FX2 Ecoboost w/ 5000 miles on it.

Been having some heavy rain the past few days here in Tampa. I know of the previous CAC problems, but thought they were all taken care of in the later '12 models and all the '13 models. Well, I was merging onto the highway, and my fear came true that I have seen in the Ecoboost problem videos. My truck immediately redlined, no acceleration and then check engine light came on. Once it shifted into 6th it started shaking/bucking when barely touching the gas. I began to start pulling onto the side of the road and the CEL went away and the problem was gone.

Obviously I called my dealership right away and am bringing it in at 8:30 tomorrow. I filmed what I could of it, so I'll show them the problem. Hopefully SOMETHING will be done about this.

Am I wrong about thinking they fixed the CAC issue in the 2013's?

Wow! Let us know what happens at the dealer when you take it in.

It's only fixed after a certain build date in 2013 but I don't recall the date. Sometime mid year though. It's somewhere in one of the threads.

Had the TSB done on my 2012 after having the misfire while driving through a rainstorm this summer.

After the TSB i have done through another couple rain storms with zero issues.

I am also in Tampa... which dealer did you buy the truck from? I bought my last two from Brandon Ford and have had pretty good luck with the service guys there.

Hopefully Ford will take care of you since this issue can put you in a pretty dangerous situation.

Can't wait for the sun to come back out...

Not the case. I have had it happen and mine was build late this year. Dealership doesn't do anything about it. They told me that engineers where researching the problem.

ggf150 What is the build date on the sticker located on the inside of the driver side door? The last know date I seen was April 2013 from someone posting about the issue here.
