Weird.....I have never had that problem or read about it on here. Someone did have a "burning" smell with the heat on, faint but there, but that's all I have read about.

Maybe someone does not like you, or your truck and gave it a little vinegar bath on the fresh air vents??

I did a little searching and found this on a site where a similar question was asked.......

"As you run the ac condensation build up from evaporator.. just like a home window unit. you see water dripping from home unit...cars have basic same thing.. from the ac box under dash the water drains from here through a hose assy and feeds out to the outside world.. if this tube gets blocked the water will build up and after time start to mold.. giving a very rank smell.."

Hope this helps.....

My wife's Malibu has this issue on occasion as well. I've not been able to find the issue or solution either. Hope you have more luck...

Tell your wife to close her legs when she gets in and turns on the a/c haha jk. I hade the same problem, just not as bad in my old durtymax and I told the wife to do that and she wasn't to happy! Not sure what the smell really was and the dealer said it shouldn't be a big problem and to just put a vent air freshener in.

have you checked the padding maybe on the passenger side under the carper? Just fold the top part back and see if it wet.

It's definitely mildew buildup. A trick I learned many years ago living in the Houston area where we run our A/C all the time. The last minute or so before you park the vehicle, turn off the A/C and run the fan at high speed to dry out the condenser coils. In high humidity climates, this trick works wonders..
