Anyone have a Platinum Crewcab longbed?

Got mine for tax reasons, too. Lack of inventory in the 157" WBs was shocking to the point that I wondered what I was missing. I found 1 in a city of 4.5M people! Dealers wouldn't trade them in without a commitment to buy b/c they said they're tougher to sell. They attributed it to the fact that most garages won't accommodate the longer bed. The short bed won't fit in mine, so no loss there.
Interestingly, none of the dealers I visited with knew about the IRS's write-off requirements. I'd think that would make it pretty easy to unload them. Of course, my accountant said he had only heard of one client who had the IRS physically measure the bed during an audit, so perhaps the guideline's not closely followed.
Anyway, tax deduction or not, I love the extra foot of storage space, esp since I give it right back to the Retrax roll up cover case that's mounted up at the cab.
My wife was concerned about difficulty of parking so we spent a painful hour in side-by-side parking lot tests of 6.5' vs 5.5' and the difference was negligible.
To my eye, the longer bed is a better balance to the long cab + hood, but that's just personal preference.
Can't go wrong either way. Good luck with your decision!

I can't swing a dead cat without hitting a short bed (5.5) crew cab truck (ford, dodge, gmc, Chevy, Toyota, Nissan) yet very few long beds.
Your right about easy to sell, but I believe most ( including a few on this board who made comments that they purchased a new short bed for tax reasons) do not have an idea of the bed length.

Loving my 6.5 with the 6.2
This truck is easier to park than my old Frontier crew cab long bed due to the awesome max tow mirrors, back up camera and better turning radius...go figure! Just back into all your parking spaces.
(All taken with a Nikon D3 and either a 70-200 f2.8 or a 14-24mm 2.8)
