I have a 2009 rebular cab 2wd STX with the 4.6l 2v and 4r75e transmission with 85k miles. I bought it 6 months ago when the factory transmission on my Jeep starting going at 210k miles. Well today the transmission went out on the Ford and the old Jeep is still going . I went to pull out of a parking lot and it shuddered and got going then very rough shifting through all the gears and bouncing back and fourth between overdrive and 4th gear. That along with very little power from the engine being transferred to the wheels in 4th gear. I took it to the dealership and they had a hard time getting it to move in reverse. They said they could take the transmission apart for 500 then start replacing parts all the way up to a full rebuild for 2500 with a 2 year warrenty or a new transmission from ford for 3000 and a 3 year warrenty. Which option do y'all think is best? Should I even trust the new transmission to last the 150k miles? Should I sell it after it's fixed? And the trans was serviced every 30k miles by ford according to carfax and the fluid looked new when I bought the truck.
