My wife has a '13 SE, 2.0 eco AWD. I like it, its a quiet ride, has decent power, its easy for me to get in and out of. Mileage is okay we get low 20's in town and 26-28 on the hwy, not as good as the one we had for a week when we vacationed in FL last year. That was fwd and we were seeing 30+ in it the whole time we were there. That's what made me push her into at least looking at it when she wanted something bigger.
She absolutely loves it, says its her favorite car she's had. The only thing I don't like is the gas tank, too small IMO. Oh and I can't wait to get a tune for it, lol.

xcntrk my neighbor has the Escape w/the Ecoboost and loves it. My wife's car is an Edge Limited and we have ZERO complaints about it either I wish I has waited to buy because we missed the Ecoboost on our order. Both are great SUVs.

Really great input all, I appreciate the feedback!

Based on this community input; my areas of concern are with the gas mileage and interior space. I have the V6 EcoBoost in my F150 and have always been disappointed by the (misleading) MPG figures. Sounds like more of the same in the Escape with the 2.0L motor and AWD only makes that problem worse.

I'm in this boat as well and need to fit a rearward facing infant car seat. Sounds like the Escape might not do the job. It's possible I'm mistaken in targeting the compact UTE class for my needs and may need to step up to the Standard SUV class.

Lastly, does the Ecoboost 2.0L motor require premium unleaded?

See when ended up here for the opposite reasoning. As far as smaller SUVs go, the escape seemed to win for back seat space. We have a rear facing Chico seat and I can drive with it behind me at 6'3". I couldn't even sit in my wife's mazda 3 she had before.

Just curious, why didn't you cross shop the same vehicle like the Explorer and CX-9? That way you can test the same engine NA 3.5/7L V6's or the more stout Explorer Sport with EB.

I had a 2013 Escape Titanium between the 2012 FX2 and my 2014 truck. It was alright and had smart key,nav etc. The only issue was the gas tank, too small
