The fuel recalls are for the 1.6. Stay away from it. It has had multiple recalls for safety. The 2.5 and 2.0t seem to be the best bet

Fully loaded Titanium 2.0L AWD here. We've only had it a month so not a lot to comment on yet. MPG seems to be like the truck, the faster you go on the highway, the worse you get. Too soon to talk about averages, but what ever it is I don't care to get 240hp/270lb-ft.

^^^ That's purty much what she said . I should have never let her drive the 2.0T....

As fer HID's ... my measurements indicate I should be able to shoehorn a couple EVOX-R's or FX-R's in there and blow away the factory system.

Me and the wife have had 2 escapes....a 2001 and 2009 and I can honestly say I'll never buy a new one. It's sad that I can barely tell the different from the new ones and Kias and Hyundais. I really liked the boxy look of old, the new one looks like a jacked up hatchback. I can't talk mechanically about the new ones but the last 2 were solid....and my wife is still driving the 2009.

Wouldn't buy one. The new Santa Fe is more appealing to me.

The wife has a 13 sel escape 2.0 with every option but the sun roof. The hids weren't offered on the 13s sel. We love it except now that we have a baby the car seat is so massive that we have to push the front seat up so far its pretty useless. Other then that we get great mileage. She averages 25 mpg going back and forth to work and we live 5 miles at the most from her work. On the highway we get around 30. If the back seat was a little bigger it would be an awesome vehicle. The power is great and cant complain and the mpg.

my mother has a '13 2.0 ecoboost, it has about 38,000KM on it, i drive it around quite a bit. its a nice drive, and with snowtires, its very very good in the snow !, only issues is that somtimes the sync system freezes, and the tank seems a bit small

Test drove one for a day ... Mpg not great and I personally found it very uncomfortable. Not a fan of the looks on the inside and didn't really want to be driving the same vehicle as almost every rental around here. We tested it in the snow and the Subaru Forester we ended up picking felt far more reassuring in the snow. Didn't help either that the dealer knew nothing about the vehicle lol

Took one home for a weekend. Wasn't impressed. Ended up with a loaded cx9 grand touring awd instead.

Both of my sons have Escapes, one with the 1.6 EB and the other with the 2.0 EB..........if you are considering one of these, please get only the 2.0 EB.
The 1.6 is gutless, noisy and actually gets much worse MPG than the bigger engine....especially on the highway.
