As in 16mpg on 10% ethanol 87 vs 19mpg on 0% ethanol 89. That is significant to me. I do not have any options for ethanol free 87 where I live. I could test the difference between 89 and 91 but I have no desire to. I do not tow regularly nor require the added octane.

I think it's a waste of money. At .10 x 30 gallon fill up. I'll take the 3 bucks by a dr pepper and a lotto ticket.

Would agree just wish I saw those differences....going just now to get my 3rd tank of premium, hope I see what you are experiencing.

You're not going to see those differences with just a grade change. The reason I am seeing significant differences is because I'm using ethanol free gasoline. That's the vast majority of the increase in mpg, not the grade change. I wouldn't waste the time with 89 or 91 if you aren't towing or racing.

The Conoco station that I buy premium at is ethanol free as I understand the difference. I am still not seeing a 2mpg increase as is being stated. I am on the 3rd tank, will do 4 tanks in total before disprove this myth. Has the TV show MythBusters done an episode on this?

Some of you guys really do need to do some research on the differences between low and higher octane fuel.

If your are supposed to run 87 run 87. If your supposed to run higher run higher! No benefits! Its actually worse to run premium in a car designed for just 87 and vise versa. Do some research on it.

Ha why not waste money it is so fun!!!? It is a big waste. These trucks are designed to run on sh** fuel so run it. If you want better fuel mileage keep you foot out of it. Just my opinion!
