Question Any fix to the uncomfortable 2009 Head Rests?

Just wondering if anyone has modified their head rest to make it more comfortable to sit in. I have an '09 F150. Great truck, but hate the headrests.

The 2012's now have 4-way adjustable head rests, I believe for this very issue. Maybe you can buy 2012 headrests and easily install them in to your 2009?

Everyone complains about the headrests in my 2011 Scab. When we went on vacation I had to remove the passenger headrest for my wife, as it gave her a neckache. It's impossible to wear a stetson while driving. If the 2012 headrest fits the 2011, I'd consider a swap.

Just raise it up. If that doesn't work, your seatback is too vertical, lean it back some.

Side in a Focus headrest. That was the fix in 2009 the dealers came up with because the 2009 Focus headrest fit.

I do not know if the 2011 headrests work.

Thanks, but I've done every possible combination of headrest/seat position. Nothing works, because the headrest moves WITH the seatback. For my wife it's because she's short and the forward slant of the rest catches her about half way up the back of her head. I can solve this by raising it all the way... but then it's not a headrest anymore, is it.

I know it moves with the seatback, but if the seatback is leaning back and consequently your back is leaning back, you have more room to have your neck vertical...

The only time I've seen a problem is when the girlfriend has a pony tail...

When you raise it up all the way and it is comfortable... would her head still hit the bottom part if you were rear ended? That is how it is designed...

This came up back in '09 and the thread was added to through 2011; therein may be some fixes and suggestions, from other Ford models. Some say it was fixed in '10 and others say it was in '11; I never have had an issue with my '09, and I am taller than most:
