i dont have an ecoboost, but i towed a 6x12 uhaul this weekend with my 5.0, prolly only about 4500 lbs. but i got 14mpgs on the highway doing 65-68. I know its not a heavy trailer or an ecoboost, but i wanted to share.

Wow! I'd love to see those numbers.
I have a FX4, Screw, max tow with e-lock 373 rear end. I have just over 4000kms (2500 miles) now and just towed my new Rockwood 2601s over the weekend.
The trailer has a dry weight of 5300lbs. I figure I had no more than 1000 lbs of 'stuff' in the trailer, maybe 300lbs in the truck box. Me, my wife and my 5 & 2 yr old in the cab. I was doing 65-70 miles per hour on the hwy for 178 miles each way. No large hills in Ontario Canada and my average was 8.1 miles per gallon as per the computer. I have not done the math myself yet but on the previous tanks I've found the computer to be quite accurate.
I was in tow haul mode. I spent 1/2 the time in 5th gear, the other half in 6th. I ran 91 octane gas on the way up and regular on the way back and didn't notice any difference.
Truck pulled awesome. Absolutely no issues whatsoever. Couldn't be happier with the performance. I wasn't expecting much more than what I am getting for towing mileage to I'm happy with what it is. Not like I tow for thousands of miles anyway.
Anybody who is getting 10, 11 or more mpg's while towing have any tips?
Thanks.

I took a ~1500 mile trip to East Texas, towing through the Ozarks (Missouri and Arkansas) with my 20' bass boat and avg 13.5 MPG. This was with a 2011 FX4 3.73 gears and the EcoBoost motor.
