Couple more photos of my progress. The second photo is just the parts mocked up for the sake of a photo. Gotta let the JB Weld dry, then I can assemble the driver's side headlight.
Almost forgot, have to install the CCFL ring inside the shroud as well.

Looking good! I put probably 20 hours of work combined into both retrofits on my truck. Took forever, but totally worth it and I think you'll agree!

Looks great, seems like there a like minded platinum owners out there. I ordered mine on 1/26/12 from lightwekz and got them last week, just installed then today. You saved a ton labor cost only was $1100 plus paint cost.

That's pretty sick same shrouds too!

That look awesome moerod...Thanxs for the pics. Gives me a rough idea of how mine are going to look installed. I painted the clear parts of the shrouds the same grey metallic as the buckets, except the four round frosted portions. I didn't like how I could see the projector body through the clear parts. The remainder of the shroud is painted the same gloss black of the headlight bezel/frame.

I should be keeping track of my hours...but I'm not. Just taking my time to ensure they are done perfectly!!!

What kind of total cost do you have in doing these yourself? I love the looks of these but just cant justify paying $1000+. Do you have a link for the kit that you purchased? Is it made specifically for 2009+ headlights?

I probably have about $300 into these lights, plus a second set of OEM headlights, since I still have to drive my truck!

The kit is not made for the F150, you have to make it fit....but there's enough documentation on the web that makes it easier to do.

Here's where I bought the hardware:

Ok, another stupid question. Did you buy an HID kit from the same people made just for your retrofit pieces? Sorry, but I have absolutely no experience with the retrofits. Been reading online the last couple weeks or so but still kinda lost. I love the way yours look.

Its all one kit. It comes with everything you need including the projectors, bulbs, ballasts, shrouds, and wiring harness. The only thing you need separately are the butyl tape for re-sealing the lens and epoxy cement for attaching the projector to the reflector bowl.

So you installed this kit and it came with everything seen(minus butyl tape, and epoxy cement, and paint). How does the back of the light assembly look from the back with these installed? Anything you need to seal up to keep moisture out of the lens?
