Is it alot to expect a $50,000 vehicle to not have this issue.......??
No that's not an unrealistic expectation in 2015. My '02 2500HD with 127k miles still had the original pads and rotors when I sold it. Never turned a wrench on the brakes.

My '13 F150 vibration set in at 4k miles. Couldn't stand it, change the front rotors and pads at 8k.

Warped rotors, or pad material embedded to the rotor, whatever the root cause, the result is Ford OEM brakes have a lot to be desired. There have been many owners report the same issue.

Yup! Its the rotors and I'm in the same boat. I'm going to get these rotors installed and report back. They weren't cheap but cheaper than the dealer!!

Finally.....At least we can agree, whether it's "pad deposits", or actual warping of the rotor. They don't perform up to expectation, and need replacing, sooner than normal.
Maybe if you don't work it, they'll stay fine.
I have to say, joedotmac.. how you ever got to 127,000 mi, without at least replacing the pads? Is really something.
I do realize HD's have bigger brakes.

Or running thru a car wash which sprays right at the rotors when they are hot. The rotors of today's Fords are thin and can't take the rapid heat/cool cycling.

How about Carbon Fiber Rotors? They were an option when I ordered my BMW, but the cost seemed outrageous even for the Bavarians. Are they available aftermarket for our trucks ? What advantages do they provide?

I don't think carbon fiber rotors are available, maybe more of a car racing thing? But the quality of material the rotors are made of makes a huge difference. I don't think ford uses very quality metal in their rotors, that's why they warp.

Drilled and slotted is advertised as being good for preventing warped rotors but I noticed a difference when driving in the rain, the rotors bite. Which is way nice!!!

I found a how to install video posted on youtube and I'm going to install the rotordepot.com rotors myself and report back to the group. It would be nice to find a solution.

Count me in as well, barely had 4k miles on my truck when I started to notice a high speed brake shake, it would always smooth out as I slowed down but now I'm noticing it at lower speeds.

I can get them replaced under warranty but doing the same thing expecting a different result is the definition of insanity, therefor no fomoco rotors will dawn a new day on my ride, with that said I will replace them with something better, pads still look like new, only have 8300m on it.

I had continuous problems with warped rotors on a Ford Ranger I had years ago. It took me a while to learn that the rotors were getting warped after every rotate and balance trip for the tires. The tire monkeys were jack hammering the lug nuts so tight you couldn't remove them with a hand wrench. I changed tire dealers to one that would hand torque the nuts, and my rotor problems disappeared. I have the nuts on my current STX hand torqued each time. 23K miles and the brakes still ride smooth, and I tow my boat a couple times every week too. Just something else to consider.

Same here, I had 15k on mine and started getting the shakes. They turned them for free and told me the pads were fine. I will wait until I start feeling it again and then go for aftermarket. Let us know what you decide on.
