Yeah, I did the dash before I learned how to really do it properly. I have a heat gun now...

I used "Knifeless Finish Line Tape" on the hood.

Hi guys. I've ordered some custom bedside decals to replace my XTR ones. Any tips before they arrive, how to make sure I'm installing in the same spot and that they will be completely "level"? I'm guessing tape off around the old decal before I peel it off, for a positioning area.....making sure the new decal will be level is my worry. Only the slightest off level will be noticeable. Thanks for your help!

I'm dragging this one back out. My 2005 fx4 had the carbon fiber center stack from the factory.
I liked that look, much better than the silver stack and floor shifter my 2014 fx4's black interior has this time.
I think I'm going to give carbon fiber look a try.

I ran through this with some FX2 decals I ordered. I taped off the edges of the odd ones and then realized that the new decals had a different border width so taping didn't help any. I ended up putting a tape line that ran parallel with the top of the bed that was at the height of the top of the tail light....
I measured 3 or 4 places from the top of the bed to ensure the decal would be level with it.

Ultimately I think I am about 1/2 inch, or so, higher than the original decal but it isn't noticeable.. And it is level with the bed and light.
