Does anyone know if the Stage 1 AFe intake for the 5.0L engine comes with the LID option as well? Thats pretty much whats forcing me into the AFe intake. I really wanna have a closed lid inside the engine bay as it really doesnt do much sucking in warmer air inside the engine bay.

Also there isnt much out yet for 2013, so does anyone know if the intakes are the same from 2011/2012 trucks? Most of what you can find online only goes too 2012 so I dont wanna buy something that won't fit my 2013. Thanks

Yes, you can buy the lid separately that'll fit the stage 1 and stage 2 intakes. I would assume they're the same for 2013, but you may want to confirm with AFE as I do not know for certain. Here's a link to afe's page with their lid.

Awesome thanks for all the good info. Afe seems to have the best intake setup for these's trucks it seem like. Just have to convince myself that I can run a custom tuner and i'll be set.

The trucks are same for 2013.
There is really no way you are going to suck a more air into this engine unless you put a larger diameter throttle body on it. you are fixed in how much air it can suck through it.

Also, unless you are running this thing wide open, there is no real benefit to putting these intakes on there. The stock air box, is exactly what you are trying to do with the AFE. It is a cold air induction system. It is more than adequate for the rpm range these engines Unless you are drag racing this thing, you are going to live in the 1500 to 3500 rpm range for 95% of your miles driven. You don't need a stove pipe to get air into this little engine. The afe looks cool, and makes it really loud, but you don't get anything else. YOu are much better off spending the money on a tune, than anything.

I just got a 4-month used AFE Mach force 4" exhaust and CAI from a guy for $400!! I have a 2011 Ecoboost 3.5L. No tune. Getting exhaust on this week but not sure whether to add the CAI or not, based on many feedbacks and threads here about them, having no improvement or higher MPG. This CAI will only fit 2012 and up, and the guy told me that AFE sells a refit to make this model adapt to the 2011, as the MAF is situated differently. Should I refit this CAI and put it on, or am I wasting my time?
