Default Advise needed - 2010 XLT phaser replacement

I have 2010 XLT supercrew, 5.4 engine.
It had a really bad ticking last summer and the dealership replaced the solenoids as well as repairing some broken bolts on the exhaust manifold.
I was getting some pending fault codes and shaking at lower rpms.
Timing over retarded and a couple of cylinders had misfired.
I noticed that it was still ticking but figured I would wait until my next visit as it wasn't running badly any more and was just annoying.
I missed my 5 year date by a couple of weeks but they confirmed they heard a ticking but didn't have time to figure out what it is.
Now they are saying it the phasers and they should be replaced but it is out of warranty so I will have to pony up some cash.
The dealership has been great at going to Ford Canada to get some assistance but I hate spending any of my own money if I don't have to.
So I have a couple of questions.
How much should it cost to have both phasers and seals replaced?
Should I bother? As in will it get worse or should I just live with the noise?
Should Ford be picking up the entire bill even though I was a couple of weeks late but it was an existing problem?

Thanks

As far as picking up the tab, it really depends on your service manager and standing relationship with the dealer. And as far as phasers, depending on shop, your looking roughly about $1000, it's not a fun job. And yes, they will get worse and the truck will run like

Like I said, depending on shop and what all they are replacing. If they are doing chain and guides and all that stuff then sure, $1500-1700 USD
