Default I think some of you guys are full of Crap

There's constant debate on this forum about which engine is better. Eco or 5.0?
Fine. I get it. Everybody wants to think what they bought is the best and if your truck makes you happy great. Fantastic! But I question all this hoopla about the Eco being SO much faster. WTF? I distinctly remember while extensively researching my purchase that most of the write ups comparing the two called it a toss-up. They were within a mpg of each other and the 0-60 times were within .5 of a second. Did any of you Eco groupies actually drive both trucks? I did. More than once. I'm no Dale Earnhart but I sure as hell didn't feel any difference. If you tow, I agree the Eco is probably the way to go. But stock? Pure acceleration? Every day driving? The Eco is a much faster 6,000 lb truck?

You guys are full of crap!

I have 2010 5.4 and I thought about trading it off. I tested the Eco and 5.0, both trucks equipped with the same gear ratio. When I punched it, the Eco had more get up and go then the 5.0. I have also tested both on numerous occasions. What would I buy a 5.0 and no I don't plan on racing, I use my truck as a truck.

Instead of posting troll threads on here, maybe you should take up a hobby.

Ducky, dont get your panties in a knot... I've owned a 2012 FX4 ecoboost, and now I own a 2013 5.0, there is no doubt that the EB has more power at take-off, low-end torque and kick, when pulling and when not pulling my trailer. When Im pulling my 6000LB trailer up north into the mountains in my 5.0 I'm doing 4000-4500 rpm at times, my EB was doing the same job at 2000. That said, I dont pull that much anymore and hated the sound of the turbos... Im so happy with the rumble of my v8 now

So go read a book or something and stop causing trouble on here...

I'm not posting a troll thread. I'm stating my opinion. I genuinely do not believe that anybody can feel a 1/2 second difference in 0-60 acceleration. Not to the point of bragging about a much faster truck

stock for stock there isn't much difference but the turbochargers, direct injection and variable valve control on the Ecoboost can mean tons of extra power on tap for the Ecoboost. you can turn the boost up with a simple tune and pick up 50+ horsepower, whereas there isn't as much potential on the table with the 5.0L due to it being naturally aspirated.
