recommendation for full exhaust system?
I have a 2013 f150 5.0 v8 4x4 supercab with stock exhaust system. The cats are going out since i'm getting the CEL, so might as well replace headers and back (headers also looks like it's about to explode). I'm still new to the exhaust spectrum so I don't know all the brands... except for the most common "magnaflow" or "flowmaster". Here are some info that I hope someone can use to help me narrow an exhaust down.
1. looking for something in the mid range sound. Even though loud sounds nice, I don't want to be that obnoxious :P
2. I live in texas, so the emission laws ain't to crazy like Cali (where I used to live).
3. I would prefer something that will not give me a CEL right off the bat and needs me to purchases a tune. Or require me to bribe some hole in the wall auto shop to pass my inspection :I.
4. This truck will mainly be my daily, so I don't need nothing Expensive. Especially when those cats cost an arm and leg... I would prefer something "Affordable".
5. It has a stock single exit to the back right wheel, which I also prefer. Or double exit to the back right will also do.
6. I'f y'all recommend mix matching different brands to achieve the above requirements, then i'm fine with it... just make sure they're compatible with each other O.O...
Or if your aftermarket exhaust has been doing fairly good for you and you recommend it, put the exhaust info down and i'll check it out. TY for your time and help! have a grate 4th!!!

Just because you're getting a cel doesn't mean the cats are going bad, matter of fact it's rare for cats to go bad, they do wear out though, how many miles on the truck?

I had the Drone Master I mean Roush on my truck when I bought it. I will admit it did sound good Outside it was inside the truck that is sucked. I do have a 6.2 and not a 5.0 so YMMV.
I now have Borla Touring on mine, the neighbors don't complain and I can hear the Radio even when towing a trailer. Borla S Type is another good one that a lot of 5.0 owners like.

@ that mileage it's possible, but I've seen them, go twice that before going inert. Anyway don't let that be the deciding factor. I have always put Magnaflow on all my V8 vehicles over the years until I listened to a truck like mine with Borla on it.
I'll never buy any other brand. Looks good, sounds even better.

The Roush system SUCKS. I couldn't even hear the voices in my head over the drone.
