Default 7 pin plug. Hot wire?

Guys,
Is there supposed to be a live hot wire in the 7 pin harness? I can only find keyed power. I heard there was a problem with some models missing a relay from the factory.

Would be great to have a constant hot back there.

Might want to put details of your truck in your signature so people don't have to guess what they're dealing with.

The only way to get constant hot is to make a jumper instead of using the relay, the hot wire will be the charge pin (for external batteries) if I didn't hate this app I would link you to many posts that show how to make this jumper (very easy) search reverse lights, or for bed lights as a bunch of people made this jumper to get power to the bed

If you bought the truck new with the towing package, you should have received a relay and a fuse in the glovebox to make that wire hot.

However, it is only hot when a trailer is attached. If you want it hot all the time, you will need to use a jumper wire, instead of the relay.

Just to add to the above, hot only when the key is on, not only when the trailer is connected.
Also I assume he has the relay and fuse plugged in as his op says he only has power when the key is on

Find the relay that is for 12 volt power for the trailer ( it's in the engine bay fuse box ) and make a jumper wire I saw some people on here doing that and it'll be constant

Here's a great instruction post to make the jumper, this was done to get constant power to the 7pin for aux lighting, but you can obviously do whatever you are trying to do.
Note: if you do this jumper, anytime you have a 7pin trailer that charges from the 7 pin, it will continue to charge even with your truck off.

Post 66 + 67 if it doesn't link direct to the correct post
