Default 65-80 *** end vibration 80% fixed

Well since this is one of the things we hate most, figured I'd post how I made mine almost unnoticeable. Since I got the truck it had a slight vibration. Then I dropped it.

When I first dropped it I went with the 1.5" setting, to see how it looked. Well that made the vibration worse, obviously we're all on the same page about the pinion angle issue. So I bought the 2* angle shims, made it about 25% better.

Well I decided in combination with the rear end still being about an inch higher and the fact that the shims I bought were specifically designed for a 2" drop, might as well put the rear end at the 2" mark. 40% better

Finally, threw some Bilstein 5100 series in the rear, since the fronts are damn near impossible to get a hold of / I only have 50K miles and was gonna wait til 60 t do mine. 80% better.

Mind you I have 22's so the ride isn't spectacular already, but I knew that:
1) I bought a truck, not a Cadillac. Ain't gonna ride like one.
2) Dropped with 22's, gonna be rough as is.

In conclusion, I only get the rattle sometimes when I go over dips and rises at about 70 and it's not enough to rattle your skull and give you a back massage like before. Thinking of a rear sway bar and raptor trans mount might get me at 90%, but it's enough to get started. Hell, even my wife noticed without me saying anything, so it must be good enough.

What made you go with a 2 degree shim? Do you know what angle your pinion should be set at?

No that's just what DJM said is optimal for a 2" drop. I've read elsewhere that 3* or 4* is good, but honestly I don't exactly know how to measure pinion angle and have never looked into it.

If you have a one-piece driveshaft the pinion angle should match the output angle of the transmission or transfer case. Give or take a degree or 2 of difference.

Maybe I'll get it up on a lift here sometime today. I manage a mechanic shop so shouldn't be too hard.

Lucky! I used to drive a Jeep Wrangler. Driveline vibes are a huge issue with lifted jeeps. So I know a little bit about that stuff haha

Ha yah it comes in handy quite often. We do a lot of jeep repairs, **** those front ends are garbage.
