Default 6 Speed Transmission Question...

Is it ok to be takin off in 3rd?

I kinda like the quiet smooth stealth type take offs 3rd gives.

pop it in neutral and push the truck, its the stealthiest

in all seriousness, if you are into stealth mode, I would have a muffler shop install 3 mufflers

I don't think Ford would recommend taking off in third.

Do you have a 10 speed bike? If so, go put it in...6th gear, and see how YOU like pedaling it.

Same thing goes for your truck, you are just putting unnecessary stress on the drivetrain by starting off in 3rd.

I put my truck in 3rd by mistake once and it felt terrible not "smooth stealth"

Cuz they gave ya the option to start off in 3rd if ya want.

Just testin all options and noticed how smooth it was when I took off on a level surface.

You're putting a lot of stress and generating a lot of heat in the torque converter doing that. If you like smooth starts I would suggest pushing the gas pedal lightly with the transmission in drive.
