insulting first offer on XCLT Super crew
I went down to the dealership (in connecticut) and test drove a 4 by 4 XLT Screw with chrome package, single disk cd and very few other options.
Overall I loved the truck and wanted to start talking numbers. The sales person goes over to the sales mgr and comes back with the slip in his hand. He says to me, "wow, you wont believe this, my mgr will give you the truck for 38,000 out the door".
I looked at the salesperson and said I am disgusted with the offer and with the sales mgr. How could the mgr think that I would pay less than $500 off msrp (the sticker was 38,300)?
I told him that next time I discuss numbers with him, tell your manager that I have a great website that lets you see how much people are REALLY paying for their trucks.

If that's 38k OTD, then they're really selling it to you for more like $35400 plus tax/etc. Still not a good deal though (only about 8% off) but not as criminal as you think. Keep in mind when you hear people getting ~20% off MSRP, that's BEFORE tax and fees. You should be looking at more like 33k OTD.

It's all a process. The dealer offers a price, you counter. They counter your offer, you counter their counter and so on and so on until either you or the dealer: a) figures out this isn't going to work or b) accepts the other side's offer.
It seems to me you walked out of the dealership without making your low offer after they came with a high offer.

You can look at the other post for price and specs on my truck, but my out the door price, not including my extended warranty, was 25.5% off MSRP

Thanks to all,
I actually just received some awesome quotes from some dealers up north, around New Hampshire.
I have to say, this website has helped so much. Thanks goes to Sig and everyone else who contributes great info to it. I will let everyone know how the deal goes down/.

Hey I got my XLT SuperCrew out the door on the road at 32,000. My options are sync, man step, side man steps, chrome bumpers and grilles, 17 inch wheels (nothing special there), power windows locks, cloth interior, power driver seat, night driving mirrors. The sticker on it was 39. I hope this helps...I live in MD
