What does your payload sticker say?
Sounds like you are a little over the limit with that load, no?

Without looking at it, it's right around 2000lbs. With just my wife and 7year old daughter we are right around max payload. We are weekend warriors so we travel with about 1000lbs of stuff loaded in the rear of the camper

The payload limit is not a very good measure to use. If the truck weighs 2750 with 1/2 a tank of gas on the rear axel, and the GAWR is 4050, the remaining weight available is then 4050 - 2750, or, 1300. How can anyone add 1790 on the truck without exceeding the 4050 limit? Move it up front? That would max the GAWR front. Or the GVWR either way.

Again, do not use the payload rating to calc your trailer's max pin weight.

DW (designated wife) and I wanted a 5er for years. We had a pop up and outgrew that. Ultimately, we want to tow our boat AND camper to where we want to go. Only a 5er will allow double towing. Ball to ball towing is not legal anywhere. Ball to pin is.

The next truck WILL be a 250, maybe even a 350, and with that will be the next step up- 35 ft'er or more. By then, the kids will be done University and it'll just be me, DW, dog and cat.

Happy campers.

Bags, or springs, will not increase load capacity, just help with levelling.

I have a 2015 F-150 with 5.7 bed supervrew and just got a 5th wheel 25ft no slides. I can not decide on a hitch setup 😡. It came with a manual slide hitch can I even use it tho? What is the modle number on your slide hitch? Does that miss your tailgate when it slides back automatically? Platinum Sean
