Default 50" LED light bar install

So I was suppose to get my 50 installed today with NFAB roof mount brackets. Installer backed out when he found out he had to drill holes in the roof. Spent 2 hours calling every offroad shop in Houston and could only find a handful of shops that will do this install and of those few, their price is outrageous.

Thinking about taking on this project tomorrow. Want to know pros/cons, previous experiences, what to look for, do it/don't do it, etc.

I'm thinking the hardest part is gonna be disassembly and dropping the headliner and side curtain airbags. I've never been a fan of wiring but I can do it. I'll probably have a mild stroke when I drill the first hole too.

That sucks man, I k is the feeling I bought a PTM bumper used and wanted the shop to colour match and drill and mount sensors holes. Once try found out there was drilling nobody wanted to take it on. There reason being is they don't want the customer coming back on them when something goes wrong later down the road fall (roof leak for your case, sensor falling off my case)

I was also wanting to do a roof light but decided not too about people complaining about wind noise. Which brackets did you buy? The drill in the top of your roof mount our the door frame one?

There are a couple trucks running around town with those light bars installed. I must be getting old as I shake my head everytime I see them...

I have the NFab ones. They drill right into the drip rail on the roof

Stage 3 has a very informative video on how to install these mounts on our trucks. That's all the education I have on this install.

Did you call Extreme Off-road in Katy? I see trucks there everyday with light bars mounted on the roof. They won't be the cheapest in town and depending on how far north you are might be too far but they do good work.

Drill holes in the roof for a light bar that can't be used on public roads? NOPE.

Just because they can't be used on public roads doesn't mean they won't be....A lot of people do country driving or driving on very quiet highways were other seeing other vehicles is rare. I personally wouldn't drill holes in my roof either and I would get a lightbar mount but to each their own. I think he wanted help on how to do it not your opinion lol

...to the OP definitely look it up on youtube. I know I watched a few videos on it but every video they had to drill holes which I wasn't a fan of, but the videos are out there
