Anybody have the MPT 93 Octane Performance RACE tune loaded? Just ordered it and was wondering how much it may differ from the 93 Octane Performance STREET tune. I've read the descriptions on their page, but was hoping someone has tried both and could tell me if they've noticed a big difference.

Should just be in the shifting strategy. As far as I know power should feel the same. I cant remember who it was I was chatting with one here, he had the race tune and went down to the street tune because it was "too aggressive" so prepare yourself for quite an aggressive ride! lol

Thanks Berty! That's what I was hoping for!

I believe MPT says right on their site that most do the street tune because they warn the race tune is harsh.

Anyway, I just ordered 2 updated tunes from 5star for $65 to account for my new 4.11 gears getting installed next week.

Race tune definitely isnt too harsh. Ive tried all the MPT tunes, chill -street-race etc with and without JLT intake. The race tune is smooth and not noticibly harsher in my opinion. It still shifts smooth as butter at normal throttle for me atleast and holds gears and downshifts exactly how I want it to.

The race is the best, always go with performance race imo. If you dont , youll be curious and probably buy it anyway which is what i did. So i bought like 5 tunes and only use 1 lol..

I heard from a friend that MPT turns off the knock sensors or just tells the computer to ignore it. Then they advance the hell out of the timing. My friends truck was knocking and after a few datalogs they blamed everything on his truck. After switching to 5 star, no more knocking.

Not true, no tuner would do that and wants to blow engines, and that's what could end up happening, we'll except one tuner, won't name any names...
Sounds like he needs to probably get gas from a different station.
I run both 5 star and mpt, both great tuners that don't take it to unsafe levels.

I run the MPT 93 race tune and I don't find it too aggressive.
I also run 26 psi of boost in my Grand National, so I don't think there is a tune that's too aggressive for me.

And I run the 93 performance street in my 6.2L and it is amazing. I don't notice anything out of the ordinary other than my MPG's are lower.....haha.

I don't know of any reputable tuner that turns off knock sensors. I've run 5*, MPT, and SSI and every data log indicates the knock sensors are active and working. Turning off knock sensors can destroy an engine lickety split!
