I have a 5.4 raptor. Why does my motor have 320hp over the standard 310 and 390ft.lb. over standard too?

I too have a 5.4 Raptor (not shown here yet) and I believe the actual numbers and reasons are as follows: 310 hp on unleaded (gained 10 hp by adding an electric fan/removing mechanical fan and our better tuned exhaust) and 320 hp is on E85.

Having only lived with the 5.0 for about a month, I can without doubt say that it is miles ahead of the 5.4. The problem I had with the 5.4 may have been more with the transmission and throttle response, which is completely fixed in the new truck. All it takes is one test drive and I bet all you guys that have the 5.4 will be in love with the 5.0. Find a little open road and just step on it!!

See everyone is hating on the 5.4 because it has a slow throttle response and shifts all weird. Thats the transmission doing that, how would a motor have anything to do with that? Plus if you have your tranny reset and drive it like you stole it for the first 100-200 miles, the transmission works perfect. I did that and have no problems now.

5.4 is a well proven engine and I am sure the 5.0 will be great too. But I have seen numerous 5.4s put through **** and continue to run like champs thats why when my 05 F150 was declared dead (totaled) I went with the 2010. Great rebates plus a proven engine=cant beat

My guess the 5.0 has a much better power ban.
thanks, and it probably does

I believe the 5.4 and 6.2 in the raptor are tuned up a little more, I believe it's by SCT but I'm most likely wrong.

I have had the 5.4L in my past 2004 F150, and 2006 Mark LT......and now in 2010 XLT. Never had one problem!!!! If the Ford money had been as good on the 2011....I would be driving a 5.0L now. You can't go wrong...just get what you want!!!!

+1. IIRC, all new F-150 fans are electric these days.
