I have owned to many dodge products to list but here are a few that had the hemi ..01, 04, 06, 07, a few cummins powered and a few durangos ..

I even own a very popular "ram" forum .... I am a Mopar guy ..

That said 2 weeks ago I decided to buy a new truck .. test drove the new 12 and 13 Ram 1500 ...

Needless to say ... does not hold a candle to my first Ford truck.
Now if that does not say something nothing will. Converting a die hard mopar man to a ford after one test drive .

What less would you expect with 230,000 kms. And being a german expesive to fix automoble. To each his own. I can make a tank of gas last all year. Its not how many weeks to a tank, its how many kms. Just sayin. I dont need the eco either. I have nothinf to tow, yet. Hopefully that will change next year. I think the 3.7 is a great little option. Depending on how you use your truck. Hell i might have bought the 5oh, if that was what was in my truck when i test drove her. With a tt in mind the 3.7 was not an option for me.

Anyway, back to the 5.0 vs. 5.7 Hemi. Yup the 5.0 should win.

Between the 5.0L Coyote and 5.7L Hemi, I would have to choose the 5.0L because of the F-150 it comes in. There is no doubt that if you slapped a Hemi in an F-150 and pinned it up against a the exact same specced truck with a 5.0L that the Hemi would win in every category accept fuel mileage. The main problem with the Hemi is the Ram it comes in which is why an 5.0L F-150 out does it in almost every competition. Even though the 5.0L makes less power(especially in the lower rpms) than the Hemi, it's 6-speed gear box makes it a mute point on the track and in front of a trailer for the most part. However, I don't know how things will be once this new 8-speed that will be optional with Hemi come January. That might turn the tide since it was mainly the Ram's 5-speed that was holding the Hemi back, but no one knows until it is out.

If I towed under 5,000 lbs just every so often and just needed a grocery getter, the 5.0 might have been a better option for me.
Again this isn't an eco versus coyote thread, but if you are capable of reading trading and then not ignoring what you just read, which do far you aren't, please read the review on pick up truck news website, where they tow 9000 lbs with a coyote, through very step inclines and find they have to let back off the throttle as it accelerated under load up hill ask well.

I suspect it may end up like every Chrysler transmission since the 727. It will be a grenade.

Yes the 5oh is more than capable. I think what he means is the. To pull 9000lbs up hill you will always be pulling hifh in the rpm range vs his personel prefrence. Pulling with his eco and the low end torque to pull up the same hill. All a matter of opinion
