Question for those with the FX4 Appearance Package
For those with the appearance package, is it as much of a pain to wax as it appears? I'm considering one and well, those endless feet of edges for wax to get caught on kind of concerns me.
How do you handle that? I'd think one would need 4 or 5 rolls of painters tape to tape off all those edges.
Thoughts from anyone that has waxed their AP FX4 are appreciated.

I got my FX4 with the appearance package about a month ago. It's too cold where I live to detail it myself, so I took it to a local detailer just to get it hand washed and a coat of wax applied.
The guy said that he definitely would NOT wax the body or hood graphics. He just applied paint sealant to the entire truck with a wax applicator - making sure to not slather the sealant all over the place, then he buffed it off with a little machine - taking care not to hit the decals.
I watched the entire process and there were no issues with the body or hood graphics. Just don't put the wax all over them.
Also, I plan on using a wax that doesn't leave the white residue in cracks and crevices. There are many brands that offer this type of was now. Much easier in my opinion. With most of these waxes you can also wax matte plastic surfaces like mud flaps - it gives them a like-new sheen, and no white residue. In my experience better than the creams and gels that supposedly restore those types of plastics.

Mine is never a pain... because it came off the day after I brought it home..
That said, if it was still on then yes I do believe it would be a PIA to do a full detail on the truck. I am talking clay, cut, polish, wax, etc... Just waxing around those decals should be fine. I haven't taped off the FX4 decal anytime I have just applied wax and have no issues. I smeared some wax all over the App package decal after pulling it off and let it dry... didn't leave any residue and no white stain several days later.

Wax them just like the rest of the truck, then clean the edges with a detailers brush, or just a cut down paint brush, or even a soft toothbrush. No issues, mine looks perfect. No waxed edges.

Had an fx4 with appearance before my limited, and I used various different waxes with no problems what so ever. Usually i would wax it fully then clean it off and come back a few hours later and wipe the rest of the white spots away.
