No freaking idea. I am finding conflicting information every where including Ford. I would prefer iridium plugs since it's what the truck came with but since ford no longer stocks themi don't know what to do.

Is there an O'Reilly Auto parts near you? They show to sell the SP-519's. If they aren't in stock, they should be able to get them for you.

0.045, most were right on, but a couple i had to close a little tighter. RockAuto lists them at 0.044. There's a $2.50 rebate on them too.

534 is the same, different gap. You can get these and change the gap.

I went with these NGK plugs, they came pre-gapped at .45, I believe.

Are you guys relying on the pregap on any plug? Years past, that was always frowned on. I get the impression that's what is happening.

Being that several of us have asked others what they are going to SET the gap at, I would say that your impression is incorrect.

Always check gaps before installing.

Well, not everyone said that. Unless I'm confused with the "other" thread on plugs. Over the years I've known of people relying on the preset out of the package, trusting souls they are.
Have played with cars/trucks for over 48 years, yes, I know not to.

You should always check your plug gap before installing every plug. However being iridium the tips can be damaged if you are not super careful. So if you can get a plug that's in 0.002 of what the manufacture calls for you are golden.

In other news did ford change the gap on the 5.0 F150 in 2012? I am reading .049-.053 for 2012+ and .041-.045 for pre 2012.
