That is a great trap speed, and realistic, given that you have the lightest possible configuration (Regular Cab and 2WD) with the 5.0 engine. According to my calculations, your truck weighs about 650 LBS to 700 LBS less than a Super-crew XLT 4x4 with the 5.0. Car and Driver tested that model with a 1/4 mile trap speed of 93 MPH.

would lower tire pressure, less fuel in the tank and folding the side view mirrors flat against the windows get you into the 13s? How about removing the spare? You are soooooo close

Man that is awesome! I have a 5.0 regular cab XL, but with 4x4 and the long bed. It was fast as hell when I had the skinny 235's on there, but now that I have the heavy *** 285 Duratracs on it, not so much...

Was wondering if a tune would do any good, and it seems so. Keep us posted!

I failed, it was 20 degrees warmer....ran 14.20 best

thats great..i had a 94 mustang 5.0 with 3.55 gears and 5 speed that would run 14.45 at 95mph.on streets.mustangs were really slow in them days..
