So now they say that a tune and intake are good for 45hp and the CAI is resoponsible for 10 of those HP's? What am I missing?
I think what you are missing was if you look at the old dyno sheet they mentioned that they gained 47whp from the stock tune and 87 oct gas. From what I remember they gained 8-10 whp just switching from 87 to 93 on the stock tune.

stevezf150 - MPT just put a video on YouTube. Intake and tune 45 hp on a stock truck. ...
And 99% of the gain is from the tune. MEANING: CAI adds little to any performance gain.

white_dc ... See MPT's blog. It gained an extra 10 RWHP over just an MPT 93 octane tune.
And IIRC, the video indicated slightly less.

EDIT: The other thing to consider is that most of the gains are above 4,000 RPM. Other than WOT, how much of your daily driving occurs above that?

I think what might be confusing is that the originally dyno sheets they have for their 87 and 93 oct tune only truck was a different truck. Everytime I see an on Ramp, I am pulling past 4k RPM. That's when vtec kicks in yo!

Either way.... I am more curious to see what they are going to put down with Nitrous..

The truck already comes with a CIA, it pulls in cool air from the fender, that system is just like all the other so called cia and it's NOT! It's now sucking in all that under hood heat from the engine.

With the hood liner in place there's no way for the top of that box to seal against the hood.

The best filter and air intake is already in place.
