disconnect your battery, clean terminals and bleed off voltage on positive cable side. this will put your transmission back to factory defaults. adaptive learning tranny, my wifes 2009 Flex starts losing mpg and shifts lazy this is what I do. pita but check the gaps on your plugs.

I just looked at what those services are, and it's basically a $400 oil change with an "inspection" - a complete package that is available at Jiffy Lube for maybe $40.

The number of teeth in the tech's mouth might differ, but it doesn't look like the work done will change.

1. Muffler and CAI might mess with your mileage if mechanical flow properties are messed with. I don't know.
2. Heavy tires might be your culprit.
3. Your truck probably sounds way cooler with the CAI and muffler, so your driving might have changed to a style that lets you hear more.
4. You spend too much time idling at Tachi Palace
Haha, Tachi doesnt get my money, my truck does.
I just put the CIA on yesterday, ive been getting low mpg for about 2 months now, before the tires even.

Check your plugs, dude.

I looked at mine a few thousand ago and had to regap them. Don't know if it helped my mileage much as I didn't think to check it, but the idle felt smoother. I'm also on a 91octane tune.

With a level, I get 19-21 mpg highway, winds allowing. Lemoore is more rural, are you having more headwinds? That can do it.

The winds here have been low lately, so that is not factor right now. I gonna check my plugs and reset the computer tomorrow and see what happens. Ive got some MAF cleaner as well that im gonna try to see if it helps. What tuner do you have?

The MAF will screw with your drivability hella hard. You'll know when it gets stinky. They're fragile, so I'd just look at it and see if it's dirty rather than spraying it down.

I have an SCT X4 (I think) with 5* tunes. The transmission mapping changes are the best part of it, honestly. Having the truck bark tires into 2nd is pretty sweet. I drive mine like I stole it, and burning tires through first gear is too fun. Yeah, it's childish. It helps mileage on cruise control on the HWY I think. Stock, I used to get to 6th gear at 41mph, and now I'm in 4th gear at the same speed. It shifts later, and firmer. Much happier to hold gears. Going up the 4 lanes is a lot easier with it on "D" rather than "M" as it doesn't lug or change gears so much.

On the spark plugs, you'll need a swivel or two and some extensions. The rearmost sparkplugs are a nightmare to get to. I had a little bit of trouble with the plastic clips holding the coil plugs on, too. A little bit of dirt on them, and they get pissy. While you're in there, check your coolant tank level. A lot of guys are having leaks.

I had the same issue as you. Leveled the truck and my mileage didn't change. I was averaging a steady 19.2 mpg (hand calculated) around hilly county roads on no ethanol, 91 octane fuel. I added 275/70/18 BFG KO2's on stock wheels and I dropped to 15.5 mpg. Obviously, this was pretty aggravating, especially considering that the truck felt like stock with no loss in power but a dump in fuel mileage. I disconnected my battery like some suggested and that seemed to do the trick. We're still on a winter fuel blend but my mpg is around 17.3 at the moment. I'm interested to see if it changes after the weather warms up and the addition of a 5* tune. Hope you get it figured out!

Red face

Yea the basic stuff, plugs should help, your air filter is OK obviously. Winter fuel blends will cause your mpg's to drop a bit. I usually loose 1-2mpg, or worse in bad weather (headwinds, etc.). Check the Air Pressure in your Tires. I just had my winter tires put on. I usually loose 1mpg, but on my last trip out to West Virginia I was only getting 15-16mpg. WTF? This time of year I get 17-18mpg. (on winter tires, winter fuel blend, etc.). Once I got out there I double checked my air pressure. My front tires were at 26psi, rears were at 29psi. I run them at 35psi. My own fault for not checking. Since last winter they've been in the basement. Two of them had lost almost all air pressure. I told them to check all tire pressures and check for leaks. I got the truck back and they looked OK (that can fool ya). I didn't check 'em. So, double check your tire pressure. Do it in the morning before you drive while they are cold. My winter tires cold (Cooper Discoverer M+S) sit at 32psi cold (ambient was 20-30 when I checked), 35-36 psi warmed up.

The picture is a vacuum sucking up money from a wallet and Matt gave a very good example.

Leveling it and putting bigger tires will instantly kill fuel milage.
Lot of folks think putting free flowing exhaust on it will help.
But you know nothing about what back pressure does.
Ford Spend Millions of dollars on setting these trucks up.
And we start instantly changing everything on them.
Then start asking what happened to the fuel milage.
Raising the front of the truck up immediately raises the spoiler and puts a drag on everything under the truck.
Bigger and wider tires is more drag on the wind to push threw it.
I know and and understand everything about the Cool factor.
But how much are you willing to pay for that factor.

I been down this road many times.
Make only one change at a time and watch what happens to the truck before you do anything else.
