Default What's a truck wash worth?

I know if you want it done right, do it yourself.

What do you spend getting your truck washed? I just spent an hour and a half cleaning the bugs from the front end and mirrors after spending $25.00 to have it cleaned by someone else!

If I pay for a carwash, especially $25, and there's still bugs on the front end...someone's getting another carwash for free

Half-*** wash, $3 depending how dirty it was elsewhere.

I paid a detail shop for a 5hr job with supposedly two-step buff, etc, etc for $199 on my wife's car. When I picked it up there was still bug spots on the front. Pissed. Waited around for them to redo it. I asked how does one not care enough to actually buff and not notice something like that. Will detail myself just like you stated and won't use them again.

People just don't care to do a good job anymore...

Usually 7-8 bucks at one of those full service wash places. I'd pay some serious money if it were washed by victoria's secret angels though.

Usually just wash it by hand, myself. Just like everything else these days, if you want it done right you have to do it yourself.

I agree. I had a fusion when I lived over 50 miles from work.(one way) Had a "professional" wash and detail it for $120. Said he would spend about 4 hours on it. Was in class when he dropped it off. I went out to pay him. And there was still dirt all over the wheels and wheel wheel liners. Bugs on the windshield. The same ones that when I dropped it off to him. Gave me the whole oh I missed a spot. I'll take just $100. So I have him $50. And a call to the company manager. People just don't care when it's not their own. I'm sure there is some people that will do an amazing job. But I feel better when I do it. Just like last weekends wash and wax.

There's a really good place here that costs 27. They always do a good job cleaning bugs and all. I have gone places before where I have to clean again when I get home.

I wash mine for $3-5 in the manual bay.

It's never super duty because I wipe it down with spray detailer often so when I hit the car wash, it's never crazy dirty.

I DO NOT allow anyone to wash my truck except me. For easy bug removal after a trip, I spray the front end with Stoner "Terminator" and after a few minutes wash off with a bug sponge and a quality car washing soap. Rinse with de-ionized water. Comes squeaky clean and no water or bug spots. Autogeek has all the right stuff for a perfect wash and other detail work. You want it done right, you gotta do it yourself.
