Question FX4 Sony Package Audio?

What's up guys, quick question.

I have a 13' FX4 with the Sony upgraded audio package & subwoofer, and I don't understand why, but the radio sounds like crap. The volume is super low, and the sub sounds like crap.

Anyone else have that same experience? I mean for the money, it's pretty disappointing.

yep. it's sad. but part of it is probably the source. I've found that treble +5 and Bass +4 works well for settings then I only use Pandora or HD radio now. regular radio and sirius/XM just sound AWFUL on the the Sony setup.

You can always upgrade speakers and whatnot to make it better as well.

I upgraded my speakers, but I'll admit the radio and Sirius don't sound as good as my iPhone Through the Bluetooth audio.

I guess I should be real happy mine works great...

I have a few young friends, and at ties I let them play with the Sirius and they always end up on one of those idiot channels (Hip Hop and c-rap). They get to bouncing around, and I am almost afraid of the windows blowing out..

Did I just happen to get a good set up? I love it!

Doubtful. Your standards are just low. Don't get me wrong, the Sony system in these trucks sound OK, but not great at all. I have a buddy with a gmc 2500 Denali with the bose system and it sounds much better than the Sony system. My wife has an 09 altima with the bose system also and it puts my truck to shame.

The Sony Company has never been known for quality car audio equipment (it's sold in Walmart......)
Why Ford would take them and use them for their "premium sound" is baffling.

I have a '12 with the Sony system and it works great. Sounds as good as any other premium OEM sound I've heard.

However I have been lusting that kicker powerstage 10" sub upgrade. Kinda pricey tho. I've heard really good things about the kicker complete speaker upgrade. Checkout "Audio Savant" on YouTube. They have a 3 part install and review on an F150.

Look on Ebay, picked one up from a Ford dealer for $300.

I think the Sony system sounds decent but it lacks punch. However, I'm coming from previous car audio systems that were complete junk.

This thread makes me happy I decided not to get the premium sound. I've had it in everyone of my previous vehicles, but decided not to with my truck.
