Well the ride would be way soft, the wear on your tires would suck and tires are not cheap, gas mileage would also be affected, and I just don't think it'd be a comfortable commute. I know people on a different forum who have long travel trucks and they won't drive them on city streets because of the way it handles on pavement. Plus the risk of wrecking it and having to redo all that custom, lots of times irreplaceable, work just driving it as a dd would deter me. There's a reason why we don't nascar cars on the interstate. Even though they are considered "stock cars"

Have you ever built a desert racer? Just curious. I haven't so I dont know what all components you'd need. Plus if your not impressed with the raptor it wouldn't matter your gonna change most of it anyways. So why not get it for 6.2

K so FWIW I know a guy that removed his cv axles and replaced them with machined cv stub shafts ( cut the axles at the outer cv hub to make stub shafts and bolted them in place) not sure what he did at the diff but it made it 2wd and he also had some long travel kit put in... I think he spent over $20K on that truck.

Okay so fwiw, you're going to want to use a different forum. Maybe try dezert rangers or something similar. Most of the people here have no idea what you're trying to accomplish and have no idea or interest in why you would want to do that. You're pretty much gunna get bashed because of peoples ignorance on the subject. It blows my mind that very few on here realize the difference between a spacer lift and lift gained from a replacement coilover. Let alone a full long travel swap, which I'm assuming will include custom fabbed mounting points in the rear also besides just a front swap, a roll cage, etc...this isn't the place to get you're answers on this topic.

As far as swapping to 2wd, if you're that adamant about it, trade the truck in and downgrade??

I am serious and it seems not many know what a long travel desert truck is capable of.

A daily driver that you plan on abusing on the weekends when you've already acknowledged the fact it's eventually going to break and leave you stranded? What happens when its in pieces and you still need to get to work? Unless you have a true daily driver the idea of heavily modding this truck and abusing it off-road sounds like a bad idea. You'd be better off buying an old pos and fixing it up.
