Default 4" Rough Country Suspension Lift installed

Hi everyone I just installed a Rough Country 4" suspension lift and wanted to share my findings with you because I couldn't find much on the forum about a 4" lift when I was trying to make my decision which lift to get.

First let me say the directions were actually very good. I honestly didn't find any confusion with them. All the parts were there, nothing missing. In fact I had left over nuts & bolts (the only way to know you did something right is to have spare parts lol).

The parts were very well built and nicely painted. It took me roughly 11 hours in total ( I have a lift).

The first reason I chose the 4" and not the 6" is because I wanted to remove the leveling kit as I feel it was ruining my truck. I lost turning radius with the leveling kit, I felt it made the truck ride stuffer and I didn't like how it "may" cause early ball joint failure. I wasn't looking for that much of a height change.

The main reason I went with the 4" was to fit 35" tires. I found out by talking to Rough Country directly that the only difference between the 4" an the 6" is the 4" has a 4" front spacer (obviously) and the rear uses a smaller block than the 6". Every other part is exactly the same as the 6". I'm told the 4" puts the geometry of the truck 100% like it was from the factory only 4" higher which is exactly what I was looking for. The 6" makes the geometry of the suspension 2" stretched just like factory with a 2" spacer does and that's what I'm trying to get away from.

Let me tell you that I am 100,000,000% satisfied with the outcome. It rides like a dream! I have my full turning radius back and LOVE the look. I also added Pro-Comp "long" add a leaf to the rear because I like a slight rake.

I freakin love the add a leaf too. I can't explain it but I honestly think it rides better with the extra leaf. I get about 1 1/2" extra height and more payload AND in my opinion a better ride. I put the suspension lift in first without the add a leaf because I wanted to see what it was like before I add the extra leaf and boy oh boy what an improvement.

I hope I haven't confused anyone or duplicated what someone else may have already posted. Feel free to ask any questions if I didn't explain we'll enough.

Looks awesome! Still trying to decide between 4" and 6"... Really like the look of 35s on 4" over 6", but the 6" isn't too much more expensive.. But nice truck bud!!

great post.

I love the 4" over the 6" as well. It makes the truck look wider vs a 6" makes the truck look too tall and skinny IMO.

Go with the 4in, you will love it. I promise. I posted a thread on here a few days ago. 4in Lift VS Stock. Itll show you a couple pics of the 4in right next to an almost identical truck. I was on the fence for a long time 4in or 6in.

Sorry, not trying to hijack, just want to see more 4 (ha), Great Looking Truck bro. Do you have MORE pics.

Don't let price decide. Go with what you think looks better. The good news is if you go with a 4" Rough Country and ever decide to go up you just call Rough Country and order the 6" front spacer and rear block and that's all you have to do to get to 6"
