4" Lift / Wheel Question

4" Lift / Wheel Question
looking at potentially moving from my current setup to a 4" lift. i've looked over a few threads on here and other forums and can't seem to find a concrete answer. I'm currently running an 17" method NVs, 0 offset with 4.5" backspacing. If i were to go to an 18" NV or Double Standard, the offset would change to +18, not sure how or if this would work.
I reached out to BDS, was told "no, new knuckle won't allow for 17" rims," which actually baffled a shop I had visited when I first looked into the kit.
So, I called Rancho...who again said the same thing, that the knuckle wouldn't allow for a 17" rim. Now, in speaking with a few shops, they had indicated that the important thing was the offset and that my wheels should be fine. I really don't want to try and get a set of 18's and new tires and such.
Anyone out there running a current 4" lift with 17s on either Rancho / BDS' updated knuckle? I'm hearing way too many different answers from different sellers and really just need someone who has actually gotten this done. I know on another thread a few guys mentioned it would work...just want to see or hear from someone who has in fact done it

There are three members running Rancho 4in and 6in Lift including myself. NWfreerider is running the Rancho 4in with Method NVs and 35s. No rubbing and now spacers. I am running the Rancho 4in with Pro Comp 7033s and 33s. I have 4.5 backspacing. IrishRed is running the Rancho 6in with Raptor Wheels and I think 4.5in Backspacing with 1.5 wheel spacers. You will be good to go man. Rancho's Kit work with 17s as long as they have 4.5in Backspacing or close to it at least.

You will love the Rancho. I can't get over how well my truck rides and handles now. I'm loving the RS7000MTs.
It is a high quality kit. The one-piece subframe makes the front end feel solid, tight, & safe.
I will be posting pics of my 6" kit in the near future.
