Default 4 and 6 inch lift kit

I'm looking into getting a lift kit im 90 percent sure im going with rough country as a brand, but i want to see what a 4 inch and a 6 inch both look like with 35's I looked on all the lifted truck threads i could find but with no luck. I hear that 6 inches with 35's look like they should actually have 37's thats why im hoping people can chime in with their pictures. I mean the price difference is 100 dollars so im trying to figure out if i should just go with the 6. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I have the 4" Rancho kit with 295/65/20s (35.47"x12.33") and am really happy with the set up. I've always felt like the 6" lifts need 37s to fill out the wheel wells the best. Still looks good with 35s, but very much prefer 4" and 35s. There's quite a few pics of setups in this thread I started when I was deciding what to do with my truck: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/consid...inions-206425/ Also, have you been through this thread: Lets see those 2009-2013 lifted trucks It has a lot of pics as well of all different set ups.

Edit for pics:

FYI: The Rancho kit actually gives 5" of lift. I have spoke with Rancho techs and also taken measurements on the Rancho vs Pro Comp 6".

Wait until March and they will have their annual rebate going on. It was $400 last year. I got my kit from PCS Automotive for $1764 shipped with the RS9000XL shocks. So after rebate it was $1364, which was about $100 more than local shops were trying to sell me a Rough Country basic kit for. I think the price has gone up slightly since last year but should still be reasonable after rebate.

PCS Custom Automotive. They have an ebay store, but I found that their normal site was actually cheaper. http://www.pcscustom.com/searchresults.asp?cat=3722 It's now $1853.80, and when I put it in my cart to check shipping it was free. I'd still say that's a good deal at $1453.80 after rebate. I really like the adjustability of the shocks too!

EDIT: Also note that they now have a 6" system as well. It is the same basic kit with different, longer shocks for $1978.

I don't have any pics, or a lifted f-150...but I do have some advice from the wonderful world of Jeeps.

Lift only as high as you need to to clear the tires you want.

Agree! Well, as high as needed to FUNCTIONALLY clear the tires you want haha. There's a little ranger running around here with HUGE tires (it seriously looks like stock suspension, maybe a level) that I can't see how they even turn AT ALL. Crazy.

Yea...should have mentioned that. With my second Jeep, I went all crazy and lifted it 8 inches. Keep in mind, it would clear 35s with 3 inches. Man was that a mistake. Broken parts, upgrade this, upgrade that, drove like a brick on a pile of Jello. I eventually rolled the damn thing. Stupidest decision I ever made.

4-5 inches looks great on these trucks, anything higher and you really have to start thinking about the effects on the IFS parts and the brick on Jello ride. It becomes a game of diminishing returns.
