I had mine painted with a black/clear mix

I'm guessing he's pointing out that there are two other brake lights on our trucks and if you can't see those you've got problems. No different than if you have a cap on and are covering the third brake light.

I had a local painter do them. 1:10 clear/black ratio I believe, sanded, polished, then cleared.

You because nys would make you at fault automatically for rear ending someone (where I live) again not trying to sound like a douche....

got my led 3rd brake light on my truck and my led tails on it now and i love the looks!
