36 Gallon Retrofit(need help)
2013 F150 3.7L Supercrew 145WB 2WD
Alright guys, I'm in the process of buying the parts for a 36 fuel tank retrofit. I know its been done before and it looks pretty straight forward. I notice that someone mention you need to drop the drive shaft to remove the tank. Why is that? I just looked under my truck and it looks like the straps just swing away and the tank drops. Can someone please clarify this for me. My truck is a 2WD.

I seen the write up someone did and it looks they dropped the driveshaft to gain access to the fittings on top of the fuel tank since the lines will need disconnected before dropping the tank. If you are able to disconnect them without removing the driveshaft then you'll have no issue getting the tank down.

Figure in the cost for a dealer or buddy with IDS to switch the tank size to 36 gallons if that matters to you.
