Default 3.5L Ecoboost Misfires Latest Information

Here is the latest of what we are seeing at the dealers on this issue. If yours is having these issues which may be intermittent take a close look at the items listed. Also this is a ongoing issue which Ford Engineers are still going after. There are a few fuel injector issues but not many it all seems to be on the ignition side of things and the water in the intake from the intercooler is a whole other issue they are still working on and I go over the latest design on that as well. The new issue with age on these is spark plug cracks something so small will likely go overlooked by the technician or DIY type and they usually cause intermittent misfires like this one. It is something to look at if you are having any of these ongoing issues......

One of my 534's was like that at 19,500 miles. My 12 had 534's in it don't know if they were changed or factory?

Yeah I think the plugs I put in the other day were 534's also so they haven't changed part number or been updated yet.....

With all the rust around the base of the ceramic I'm wondering if you have a condensation problem in the wells? Boots fine? Dielectric grease?

There's been a few people on this forum whose plugs were done and needed to be replaced @ 35k-40k miles. Ski Smuggs was one, I don't recall the others. I don't have that many miles on my truck yet but I regapped mine and then I tightened the gaps down more when I got my truck tuned.

I just got mine back from warranty at 27k miles....intermittent hesitation/bucking/popping noises - they replaced 1 plug and coil. Much much better now. Keep an eye on your plugs.

I have the new Inter cooler TSB. I still have intermittent stumbling/hesitation. What does Ford recommend? Going back to the AC model cooler and lower shield? I have 60000 KM's on mine. Plugs have not been looked at. Is that also part of the TSB?

Thanks
