Following are a few pics of my weekend to the deer lease. Truck was averaging 21.2 on the highway at 70-75. Little bit of construction and small towns to go through. You can see by the display that over the last 30 minutes the truck got 21.2 or better. 19041 miles. Second pic at 19075 shows the tank average still at running at 22.3 Ran around town a couple of days and headed home. Mileage for the tank was 19.6 showing 19,250 miles. You can average the miles into the time and see the average fell as I went along due to small town stop and go, idling and such. Pretty average tank for me. If I keep it on the highway at 70mph stopping a few times along the way I get 20-21 mpg just about every time. My best is 23.8 running at 72 mph with about a 15-20 mph tailwind.

I don't go by the Lie-O-Meter, I go by actual hand calculations. Doesn't matter the engine, the difference in gearing still pertains. But I'm not going to argue with you, just stop pushing your beliefs and being rude about it.

All my reported mileage is hand calculated and is never more than .2-.3 off the computer generated number. Hand is always lower. The engine most certainly does matter. The torque curve on the Ecoboost is flat from 2K to 5K. Engines generally make the best mileage at peak torque. The 5.4 curve is nothing like the EB. The difference in gearing does matter...but such a small change does not equate to 2-3 mpg as reported. It is not a belief...it is what the truck does. At least a half dozen times on this topic I have been told that 3.55 geared trucks get 2-3 mpg better than 3.73's. They DON'T. Others have said 3.73 geared trucks only get 17mpg. Mine routinely sees more than that. If someone wants an opinion on what gears to get and people are posting nonsense it needs to be called out.

I have proof what mine does...where is your's on a 3.55's EBOOST getting 2-3 mpg better than 3.73. Laughable...and nonsense. There are dozens of 3.73 owners reporting 20 mpg on this site....and more that know there is little difference between the two gear choices . Just doing your math would mean a less than 5% reduction in gear equates to a 15-20% increase in fuel mileage....nonsense. We should all get the 3.31's, a 12% reduction and reap 50-60% better mileage. Those two wheel 3.15's ought to be getting 30 mpg with your math.
As for my opinion... based on a lot of reading on several sites. The 4X4's EBOOST trucks average about 19.5 -20 with 3.73's. The 3.55's are in the 20.0 to 20.5 and the 3.31's which are hard to find and see reports on are another .5mpg. Mine does a little better than the average due to the intake and exhaust. I also see 95% highway use on pretty flat roads.

I've only got about 500 miles on my week old EB Screw with Max Tow (3:73 rear end) and I am now averaging 19.1 mpg since leaving the dealer and driving on rolling mountain roads in Vermont. Not much stop and go, but cooler weather and up and down.

Your math is flawed, I've seen many Ecoboost owners with the same and lower MPG than my truck. Just keep harping the none sense and flaming others who call you out. BTW, the Lie-O-Meter is not proof. I can get mine to read up to 29 mpg.

17mpg to 20 mpg is 17.6%.
So you can make your Lie-O-Meter read 19.6 over 500 miles or 22.3 over 300? Momentarily you can change the results...not over a period of time. Look at the meter its showing 21.2mpg and hasn't changed in 30 minutes as is shown by the bar graph...in fact it read higher in 2 of the 5 samples. Your clueless...go answer questions that pertain to a 5.4...this one doesn't.
