Default 3.5 ecoboost replacement air filter

I need a new air filter for my 2012 3.5 ecoboost. What is the best to get for in the stock box? I would like something that will allow me to hear the turbos whistle more and make a little more noise under hood. I don't really want a whole new cold air intake.

CAIs are a colossal waste of money, especially on ecoboosts. The best (in every way) air filter is the OEM paper filter. K&Ns are pure junk, BTW.

Seriously, for air flow and filtering, nothing beats the OEM paper filter.

Thanks. What can help me get the turbos to whistle more and get more sound under hood?

Check out Green Filter... they make a very good filter that goes in the stock box. Supposed to be the best flowing on the market.

If you want more whistle, you will need a CAI, but as mentioned you will not again anything other than noise. I have one, AFE, and have verified on the dyno that it did ZERO for performance. I do hear my turbos though.

The AEM dry filter does add some noise. You can hear it sucking air with the windows up and radio on.
