Default 26 Gallon Fuel Tank People ....

I have in more than a few times put over 26 gallons of fuel in my truck and tank wasn't empty. One time miles to E was 35 and the other time was 65.

Anybody else have this happen?

PS. I do top off, shake truck to get bubbles out the tank and keep clicking to the nearest dollar. But I have done this to ever car/truck I ever owned and never put over what the capacity was.

Default How much?

How much over are we talking and is this from the same station or different locations? Not sure about the topping off and bubbles things. The way you described it made me laugh because it sounded like me telling my toddler to shake it off and put it away when he is done at the potty.

I have the 36 gal tank an it usually reads 630 DTE. That averages to about 17.5 mpg which is about right. I can tell you that you shouldn't trust the DTE when it gets low. Mine varies by over 100 miles depending on how I park in my driveway (backed in vs pulled in) and it takes a few miles to sync up. Once it gets below 50 I wouldn't trust it at all. And I've heard in other threads of a 9 gal reserve. Who knows. I fill up at 1/4 tank regardless and can go 2 weeks between stops.

Been 20 miles past zero once........................Took almost 27 gallons.

I felt like Kramer on Seinfeld when he took a test drive.

The answer lies within the owner's guide, for 2012 it is on page 400.

Care you enlighten me on the reason? The manual for my 2013 on page 400 has engine oil, coolant and rear end fluid capacity. On page 402 it list fuel tank sizes and it said 26 or 36 and I have a 26! Still doesn't answer the question.

You know topping off is bad right?

Mess up emissions controls and throw codes over time.

That's what I have heard but over the last 15 years of me driving I have done that to every vehicle I have owned(9 of them) with no issues.
