Just don't fill her up....unless your towing or road tripping. With the Ecoboost. ...I don't worry much about it.

The pictures are broken on this one

So just the heat shield needs to be bought other than the tank, it looks like I can make the sending unit arm longer by splicing in a rod? I wonder how much longer it has to be.

can I just buy this or is there something wrong

Went you the dealership for a air bag light so I had them change the computer from the 26 to 36 it cost $110.00 a little pricee but the miles to the empty are right now reads 570 miles at a full tank @ 15 miles per gal average.

Smile 26 to 36 gallon Tan Conversion

Just finished installing a 36 gallon tank in my 2011 EcoBoost F150 and it went just as wb880 said. Local dealer to reprogram the gauge next week. I found the tank with heat shield at a salvage yard, installed a new pump and all looks good. Thanks for the great information.

Anyone done this swap on a 2016 yet? Prices for parts seem to be considerably more expensive than when this thread was originated.
