The limit on the pump at the 7-eleven by me is set by the owner of the store. Ask the manager if you can get a higher limit on the particular card you want to use. The one near me does this for business customers as well.

Off topic, but a coworker of mine has a 2009 STX 4x4 4.8 V8 super cab! He says it has a 36 gallon tank, I didn't think the earlier years had a 36 gall. Tank!

In case anyone was wundering about how the miles to empty works after you change from the 26 to the 36 I believe that the computer will always think it's a 26 so it will always be off but as you get closer to empty the closer it gets. Like at 1/2 a tank the difference would be 5 gals off at a 1/4 tank 2.5 gals off so the closer you get to empty the closer it gets to right but will always be on the low side which is fine by me.

As per a Ford tech:

Go to your Ford dealer and have them hook up their scan tool and then go to programable parameters and select fuel. You can select and change to a 36 gallon tank. After selecting a 36 gallon tank, run a self test twice. If come up with a p160a code, you need to go to Powertrain, then select service functions, then relearn vehicle data. IDs must be at version 77a.06 or newer to do this. This can only be done on 2011 and 2012 ecoboost engines. will not work with 3.7, 5.0, or 6.2 engines.

I had a 2008 F-150 XLT with the 4.6L screw 2wd that had a 35 gal (I believe that is the size they used)/.

Hey will that part number in the original post for the tank and pump and shield work on an 04? I have a 2004 Ford that I would like to put on a 36 gallon tank.

I think in about 2009 they made changes to the f-150 so I would take the part numbers to the parts dealership and see if they are the same for you truck would be the only way to be sure and bring lots of money the ford parts have almost doubled since this post started.
