I called both tasca and your place for parts. Once shipping was added in it made it more than what I can get it locally. Tasca said they wanted almost $300 for shipping the tank alone.

You do not want the sending unit, you need the whole extended range fuel pump assembly. They are not the same parts. This was one of the other problems I had.

That is one BIG gas tank! I love having a 36 gallon tank.. so much less time at the gas station. The only downfall is having to re-swipe the credit card when the station's pumps force-stop at $100.00. I usually end up at about $126 to fill it all up. My in-laws live in London.. they said it would have been $320 to fill up my tank there.

That is an UNDERSTATEMENT.

I had to drop my tank on my Dodge when the sender went out. I thought I had the majority of the fuel out but I guess I screwed up the math. Damned thing nearly broke my hand when it fell off the jack and pinned my arm.

Never again.

Shipping? Curses!

Tousley is local for me.

No way to retrofit the pump pump assembly into the extended range sending unit. Understood.

We'll need the part number you have then.

And thanks!

Very cool. I'm curious if this would work on my regular cab short box. Thanks for the great write up and pics!

Default Transmission jack

Haven't dropped the tank in my F150. But did twice for fuel pumps on my Sierra. First time fought it down on a floor jack. Second time used a transmission jack....sweet!

Thanks for the write up. It looks like you have a Screw with 5.5' correct? That is what I have so this tank would fit then. Did you find the part number for the fuel pump assemble?
3. Extended Range Fuel Pump Assembly Part#......

Thanks

My 87 Chevy van has a 42 gallon tank. If empty, it costs $175.00 to fill up !!!
