Ok, I think I need to start buttering up the wife now so I can trade my '13 Fx4 in on a '15. I love the look of the new body style. I would even consider the new 2.7L over my 5.0 if the fuel numbers are a good bit better. I have a good bit of equity in my truck now, and I am paying $150 extra a month trying to knock down the balance, so a trade may be feasible. Maybe trading for an FX2 would not set me back too much.

"The F-150 likely will be able to top the Ram’s 28 mpg highway rating when Ford replaces the current six-speed automatic with a new 10-speed automatic it is developing with General Motors. That gearbox could be ready for the 2016 model year".

Love it.
I like how they just blush over the fact the Silverado ended up winning the 3rd race when the temperature dropped down. They breeze by that point so fast you almost miss it.

I was confused by that statement all together. I thought turbocharged engines loved cooler air and performed better when colder air is ingested. So why did the Silverado beat it when the temperature dropped? Did they mean to say when the temperature rose, causing heat soak?

Yes but this is the 2.7 Liter decimating the eco-ram and hanging tough with the GM 5.3 liter in one race and killing it on two previous pulls in the heat of the day when the air is not as cool and dense. Can you imagine how bad the 3.5 TT will destroy the competition? It is just going to lay waste to the Chevy and Dodge gassers.
Ford has a lot riding on this little engine. It is not an accident that the 5.0 and 3.5 TT were nowhere to be seen. This is the time to generate some buzz on the 2.7 liter just like they did when the 3.5 TT came out.
I also predict that the 3.5 TT is going to cost a pretty penny over the other engines. I hope not, but time will tell.

The turbo engine wont be as sensitive to air temps (higher/lower density air) vs the naturally aspirated engine because it is getting the air shoved down its throat already. The only way the Chevy can gulp more air is for it to be more dense, by being cooler, or at a lower altitude.....yes, the Ford should have picked up a little power too, but obviously the Chevy was effected more.
Also, the Chevy could have a more aggressive timing ramp up when the temps are cooler.
