Default 2014 "Power steering assist Fault" READ!!!

so my truck has displayed the message "power steering assist Fault" so checked into it and apparently its a recall on certain build dates in 2014 in all models with the ecoboost and 5.0. However my truck did not fall into the recall build date. Still took it to the dealer being it has less than 15k miles and sure enough my entire power steering system was bad and has to be replaced, My VIN also did not show a RECALL either and yes it was covered by warranty. So just keep that in mind if you have a 2014 with a eco or a 5.0. My steering went out completely luckily it happened shortly after start up and not at highway speeds.

same thing happened to me, I just got my truck back yesterday. Thankfully for me, I got the message on startup and was not driving. I have to take it back Thursday morning for an alignment. whatever they messed with, they adjusted the toe and camber and my alignment is off a bit.

I have a 2013 Ecoboost, not 2014 though. I didn't know it was part of a recall nor did they tell me that. None the less, it's fixed.

Thank you for sharing this on the forum, lawdog_5.0; it's always important to get your vehicle in to the dealership as soon as possible if you're experiencing a concern. I'm glad to hear they're taking action! I'll escalate this to the regional customer service manager for further assistance. Please send me a private message with your full name, current mileage, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number. I'll get started right away!

Glad to hear this has been taken care of by the dealer, yanki01. If you have any questions moving forward, please reach out to me publicly or privately; I'm happy to help! I'll also document this as dealer feedback. thanks Brittany. I already contact Ford Service via Twitter and they have my info. It's regarding a different issue that the dealer stated Ford declined to cover under warranty.

I posted the recall that our local news station had on the trucks. Sucks to see you had the problem outside of the VIN sets. Makes me want to start looking at mine. Lol.

Sure thing, lawdog_5.0! Does this mean you've gotten the issue resolved? If so, I'm glad to hear it. I'll use your information either way, whether it is to escalate or to document any feedback you have for the dealer, or product.

Hope to hear from you soon!
