Definitely not inherent in the Platinum's. Mine is quiet as a church mouse. Have you checked the door alignment?

Have a 2013 supercrew wind noise starts at around 40 to 45 gets worse from there. Noticed it when i was driving home from the dealership, had them look at it on first service they replaced the drivers side mirror. Driving home noise was still there, took it to another dealership for second service and they adjusted the driver side window. Noise still there. I took it in on saturday and left it so it could be worked on on monday, called monday afternoon and was told they think it is mirror noise (if you retract the mirrors noise is the same) they need service manager to drive.

Hopefully they get this figured out soon i want my truck back and quiet. My son's 2004 is quieter than mine. 😡

Let us know what the service manager has to say, 63j300. What's the mileage on your truck?

Crystal,

You asked to let you know what the service manager said, well i called at 2:00pm today and was told he was busy and service writer would call after test drive. It is now 7:18pm service dept. closed at 7pm and no call i guess i am not worth their time nor is my 50k dollar truck. I will be trying to get hold of Ford area rep tomorrow.

Send me your info in a PM, 63j300; I want to check out ways to help. In your message, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll look into this further.

Default take some time to read please

k so i dont know if anyone is still following this thread but i may have come across a solution.....bare with me. k so this noise seems like its coming from the mirror area so today i took my door apart ( i am a certified autobody tech) so i took the door pad off put sound deadner on the inside of the door (a version of dynomat) all over inside.. i also took the mirror off and put sound deadner n the inside and also put a layer of foam tape around the inside of the mirror to make an even greater seal... took it out on the road and noise was still there so then i went all out...took it back to the shop and again taped off every door gap on the drivers side, all the cracks on the mirror, seals, every last thing i could think of. i took it back out and still no cure..... so the only thing left is door glass. its gotta be the door glass is to thin or something it is the only logical explination left.... i looked at part #'s from 09-14 models and they look to be all the same... anyone think that they could have changed to way the door glass was made so it is thinner or not as sound proof? and or does anyone know of any aftermarket brands that makes a "soundproof" glass?

Update, dealership called on Thursday and said they could not find anything but normal noise. Went to pick it up and talk to the service manager, we went for a drive and lo and behold the noise showed up. Now the service manager knows what I am talking about. Service manager said they would not be able to look at it on Friday and could I bring it in on Monday and he would get me a rental. Took it in on Monday and did not take rental because of hassle of getting and returning just would drive our work truck.

Did not hear anything on Monday so this morning Tuesday I stopped by was told by service manager that they did not have time to look at it on Monday would look at it today. I told them on Monday that I have to have it back on Wednesday because I am taking it to Reno.

Also when I am driving it I can push on the weather stripping and make the noise change.
